Cover is available for puppies, dogs, kittens and cats aged 8 weeks old to 36 weeks old. 6 weeks introductory breeder cover is subject to acceptance criteria and available only for new policies. Terms, conditions, waiting period, policy limits and exclusions may apply. Excludes pre-existing conditions.
This provides practical financial protection during the important early weeks in a new home.
Breeder charter and declaration
To participate in the Petcover Breeder Programme, you confirm the following:
About the Puppy or Kitten
To the best of your knowledge and based on veterinary advice, all puppies or kittens sold:
- Are in good health and have not been exposed to any infectious or contagious diseases prior to sale
- Have been vaccinated in accordance with standard veterinary recommendations
- Show no signs of infestation by fleas, lice, mites or intestinal worms
- Are not sold prior to reaching 8 weeks of age
- Have been socialised and handled regularly since birth
Before the Sale
You confirm that you:
- Advise new owners of breed characteristics and requirements including grooming, exercise, diet, housing and training
- Disclose any defects or relevant matters that may influence the purchaser’s decision
- Provide details of any veterinary treatment received and supply veterinary contact details if requested
- Provide full details of vaccinations, worming, flea treatments and preventative care
- Supply registration and pedigree certificates where applicable, including any health screening information
- Recommend appropriate training resources and recognised breed clubs
- Provide a suitable puppy or kitten sales contract
Agreement to Participate
By offering Petcover introductory cover to your customers, you agree:
- To follow the guidelines set out in this Breeder Charter
- To abide by the Petcover Breeder Programme Terms and Conditions at all times
