 Terms and conditions

 

 About the puppy or kitten

As a breeder, you confirm to the best of your knowledge and in accordance with veterinary recommendations that:

  1. the puppy or kitten is in good health and has not been exposed to any infectious or communicable diseases prior to sale;
  2. the puppy or kitten has been vaccinated in accordance with standard veterinary recommendations for its age;
  3. there are no signs of fleas, lice, mites or intestinal worms;
  4. the puppy or kitten will not be sold before it is 8 weeks old;
  5. the puppy or kitten has been regularly socialised since birth and is accustomed to being around people.

 

 Before the sale

Before the sale, as a breeder, you undertake to:

  1. inform the new owner about the specific characteristics and needs of the respective breed. These include, for example, coat care, exercise, diet, housing and training. The new owner should be fully aware of the responsibility and time commitment involved in keeping the animal;
  2. discuss any known peculiarities, defects or other circumstances that a responsible and experienced breeder would consider relevant to the decision to purchase;
  3. provide details of any veterinary treatment and, upon request, to supply the new owner with the contact details of the veterinary practice treating the animal, so that they can ask further questions if necessary;
  4. provide information on vaccinations, worming, flea treatments and other preventative health measures;
  5. where applicable, provide proof of registration or pedigree, as well as information on health checks carried out on the animal and its parents, provided that they have been tested for specific diseases or abnormalities;
  6. recommend suitable training programmes and/or breed clubs;
  7. provide a suitable sales contract for the puppy or kitten;
  8. comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the breeding and keeping of the animals and, where necessary, to hold the relevant licences.

 

 In connection with the trial insurance

If you offer trial insurance to a new owner, you undertake to:

  1. comply with the guidelines set out in this Partner Charter;
  2. inform the new owner of the applicable waiting periods of 3 days for accidents or injuries and 7 days for illnesses;
  3. comply at all times with the terms and conditions of the Petcover Breeder Programme.
